Kids Community

At Wellspring, we believe that children are an essential part of the church community. Sunday mornings are not school or childcare but a time of being the church with children as they discover Jesus’ love through the stories of God’s work in the world, the attentive care of adult volunteers, and friendship with other children.

Our Goal

Our goal is to create a physically and emotionally safe environment in which children are able to explore the truths of God at their own pace and in God’s timing. It is important to us that children have the opportunity for personal, internal development of faith and that they are respected as unique individuals by the adults caring for them.

A Word on Safety

We place a high priority on providing a safe environment. Volunteers are screened and trained, emergency evacuation plans are in place, and a health policy is present to help ensure a child’s protection.  

Sunday Morning Info and CHECK-IN

  • Children’s Ministry will be divided into three rooms located in the building adjacent to the main sanctuary. The kids’ classrooms will have windows and doors open to air circulation.

    1. Nursery

    2. Two Years Old through Preschool

    3. Kindergarten and older

  • Check-In and Drop Off will occur inside the Main Entrance on 14th Street. We ask that parents arrive 15 minutes early so that they can check their children in. 

    1. Once your child(ren) is checked in they will remain with their parents through the opening worship set and will be dismissed once the teaching begins.

  • We are hoping that one parent from every family who has children in Children’s Ministry is able to help once a month and help in Children’s Ministry. If this is you, please email Trish.

  • All our staff and volunteers have passed background checks.

  • If parents prefer to sit with their children and babies (see below) in the main sanctuary, they are more than welcome to. We know little children make noise - that is totally ok.

NURSING MOTHERS ROOM

  • Nursing mothers and those who have young children are welcome to use our nursing mother’s room located on the 13th street side of the sanctuary (behind the organ). 

    • If you are not a nursing mother or a mother of a small child please avoid using that area including the restroom. 

  • The Nursing Mothers room has a TV to watch the service.
